Cultural capital activities have been incorporated into the French and Spanish curriculum in order to promote a greater appreciation of life in other countries which in turn helps to enhance pupils’ development. Competitions take place at key points throughout the year with certificates and prizes awarded to the winners. The Onatti theatre company is invited into school each year and our pupils have the opportunity to watch plays in French or Spanish.

In KS4, our GCSE pupils take advantage of the opportunities to work with the MFL departments at St John Rigby and Runshaw colleges. Also at KS4, the department offers pupils the opportunity to attend revision classes in preparation for the speaking exam and intervention sessions to improve their writing skills.
